“Who’s Been Sleeping in My Bed(room)? Researching a St. Louis County, Missouri Home is nearing completion. The book designer is finishing up a few last changes and then I’ll be ready to get quotes for the printing. Pulling together all the material I wanted to put in the book was time consuming yet fun. Learning the business end of how to get that material from a Word document into a bound, printed book has been just as much work. Due to the narrow scope of the book, even the local publishing company was not interested in producing my book. Because I feel so strongly that the information contained in the book will make researching a house so much easier for those undertaking the task, I decided to self-publish. This entailed setting up my own publishing company so that I maintain control of the book. The company is now registered with the state of Missouri, and I will need to get licensed with the county and my local municipality before any sales can be made. Who knew that I would end up with a new small business out of all of this?
