  1. HOW CAN I FIND OUT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF MY HOUSE ON WEB, FOR FREE

  2. I would start with your local property taxing district website. They may have the records of the owners of your property listed on their website. What additional information you can find out about your house on the internet depends on how much information you currently have. If you have names of the previous owners, you can research them online. Some of the databases that charge you to look at their information, such as Ancestry.com, are available at no charge at local libraries and genealogical societies. Your local historical society also may have information online. For instance, here in St. Louis the Missouri Historical Society has a place on their website where you can search by address. Any holdings they have on that address are then listed for you. These ideas are just a starting point. Be prepared to have to make trips to local historical organizations to find the records you need. Most of it is not online yet. Good luck!
